Ricardo Acosta / Director & Owner
The owner of the First Response Medical Training. Ricardo is a disabled veteran who served 12 years in the Army as Combat Medic (91W) and Licensed Vocational Nurse. He has extensive experience and knowledge in training soldier and civilian. He was the Senior Medical Instructor for the Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC) at Fort Hood and previously work for Central Texas College at Fort Hood, III Corp Troop Schools. His teaching is certified thru National Healthcareer Association (NHA), American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI), American Heart Association (AHA), Scott & White Hospital, Darnall Army Community Hospital (DACH), and Department of Combat Medic & the Army Medical Department Center and School. His level of certified teaching includes Basic Life Support (BLS), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Bloodborne Pathogens, Emergency Oxygen Administration, Child & Babysitting Safety (CABS), General Pharmacology, Combat Life Saver, National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Advanced Instructor, Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS), Tactical Combat Casualty Care, Trauma AIMS and Phlebotomy. Other Certification: Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), National Healthcareer Association of Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT), and U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Medicine (Transport of Biomedical Material). He is the Medical Coordinator and instructor for Killeen Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Bilinqual in Spanish & English.
